THE STORY OF ALLSORTS INC. BEGAN
in the year 2011, on the fifth floor of a Bushwick warehouse with 400 square feet of space and a simple idea that imagination should never be limited by the dimensions of a workspace or its workforce. With that ambition, the company quickly grew from a two-person operation into one of the most versatile creative fabrication businesses in New York City. Our story is one of creativity, resourcefulness, and a relentless belief in the power of making things by hand—even in a digital age.

The name “Allsorts” reflected our philosophy. We’ve welcomed all sorts of materials, ideas and clients. Early projects ranged from small retail displays to custom furniture commissions. Soon, fashion brands, production designers, and experiential marketing agencies began to take notice. Allsorts Inc. became the behind-the-scenes force constructing window displays, runway environments, photo-shoot props and sets, and pop-up installations across the city. We have often been the studio called upon when a project had an impossible deadline or required a problem-solving mindset that could adapt as designs changed. Our reputation has rested not just on craftsmanship, but on the collaborative, responsive spirit that defines the studio.

As Brooklyn’s creative economy expanded, so did our ambitions. Allsorts Inc. has invested in digital fabrication tools such as CNC routers, plasma and laser cutters, and 3D printing equipment, pairing them with traditional craftsmanship in woodworking, metalworking and plastics fabrication, and scenic finishing. This hybrid approach has become our signature: high-tech precision fused with tactile artistry. The workshop has evolved into a bustling ecosystem of makers—carpenters, sculptors, model-makers, finishers, and engineers—each bringing their own sensibilities to the company’s growing portfolio.

Through the years, Allsorts Inc. has retained its original ethos: stay curious, stay adaptable, and keep the workshop open to all sorts of ideas. Today, the company remains a testament to Brooklyn’s maker culture—where traditional craft and contemporary design meet, where creativity is engineered into reality, and where ambitious concepts find a home in skilled hands.
